My First Chicken!

When I would travel out to the more remote parishes people would bless me with gifts.  I received bananas, baskets, rice, and other hand made items.  This was such a humbling experience.  These people gave out of their hearts.  They were poor.  

The most unusuale gift I received came from a young family. They invited us into their mud hut with a thatched roof.  I was instructed to sit on the couch.  When I did a chicken ran out from under the couch right between my legs and out into the room.  (more…)
